The sea biscuits, also called SEA BREAD, SHIP BREAD or SHIP SPONGE CAKE, were the solution for the supply of bread to the big ships since the 15th century, provided that, bread without dampness, was the only way of preserving the bread in the natural form in the long voyages. They arrived to South America in different sailor expeditions and they were introduced in habitual diet of the population of many South American countries.
